By Neighbourhood

Inman Park

Atlanta's first planned suburb is now the city's most concentrated cocktail neighbourhood. Krog Street Market anchors the scene but the surrounding streets reward exploration. The best bars here operate Tuesday through Saturday, with Friday and Saturday evenings drawing the full creative-class crowd the neighbourhood has cultivated.

Midtown

Midtown delivers Atlanta's most diverse bar landscape — rooftop terraces, live music venues, intimate cocktail rooms, and high-energy sports bars all within walking distance of Peachtree Street. The density is highest between 10th and 14th Street. Reserve ahead at the better cocktail bars on weekends.

Old Fourth Ward

The Beltline trail runs through Old Fourth Ward and turned the neighbourhood into Atlanta's most walkable drinking destination. Bars front directly onto the trail and the foot traffic means the best spots fill up after 7pm on any night above 65 degrees. Arrive early or check queue times online first.

West Midtown

West Midtown's warehouse district conversion produced Atlanta's highest concentration of craft cocktail bars and date-night destinations. The stretch of Howell Mill Road between 10th Street and Chattahoochee Avenue is where Atlanta's most ambitious bar programs opened their doors between 2018 and 2023.

Decatur

Technically its own city but functionally part of Atlanta's bar landscape, Decatur runs a strong independent scene on the square and surrounding streets. The craft beer culture here is genuine and the prices stay lower than midtown equivalents. Take the MARTA to Decatur station and walk from there.

Buckhead

Atlanta's most affluent neighbourhood runs a rooftop bar scene that is genuinely impressive. The views from the higher floors look directly down the Peachtree corridor. The crowd skews older and the dress code matters at the better spots. Weekend nights require reservations at the rooftop bars we recommend.
