Buller Brewing

Brewpub Recoleta $$ House Beer

Buller Brewing sits on calle Junin, a short stroll from the gates of the Recoleta Cemetery. It was one of the first places in Buenos Aires to brew its own beer on site, and it still pours that beer to the street it helped start.

This corner of Recoleta runs thick with tourist terraces, and Buller earns its spot among them by making the product rather than buying it in. The taps carry the house range, from a steady Honey Beer to a hoppier IPA and rotating seasonals, all brewed behind the bar. BuenosTours, which has walked visitors through this district for years, points first-timers here precisely because the beer is genuine craft rather than imported novelty.

Daniel Okafor likes a brewpub that wears its neighborhood honestly, and Buller does. The two-level room is warm and woody, with copper kettles on show and a terrace that fills as the cemetery crowds thin out. It is unpretentious in the best Porteno way, a place to land for an hour and stay for three.

Start with the beer sampler, since it is the quickest route through the house styles and the easiest way to find your pour for the night. The Honey Beer is the gateway and the IPA is the one regulars come back for, while the kitchen turns out pizzas and sharing boards built for a long table. Prices stay friendly for the district, which keeps Buller closer to a local than a tourist trap.

The hours run late by Recoleta standards, to 2am midweek and 4am from Thursday through Saturday, so this works as both an early pint and a last stop. Who is it for? Beer drinkers who want the real thing after a cemetery visit, and groups who need a long table and a late close. Avoid the front terrace at peak tourist hours if you want quiet, and head to the upper level instead.
