Our Take on Sentralen
· Wine list Sentralen is the wine room inside the restored 1899 Christiania Sparebank building in Kvadraturen, opened in 2016 as part of the Sparebankstiftelsen DNB cultural complex. The cellar is run by Mikkel Holmen and leans into mid-range Burgundy, the Rhône and a quietly developing Norwegian-friendly Austrian programme drawn from Heinrich and Strohmeier.
The by-the-glass rotation is shorter than the Grünerløkka rooms (around twelve references) but turns weekly and the prices, by Oslo standards, remain accessible. The room is high-ceilinged and surprisingly intimate. Ranks sixth because the cellar is narrower than the rooms above but the Kvadraturen location fills a genuine gap in Oslo's central wine geography.
