Paradiso has been ranked in the World's 50 Best Bars top 5 for years. The bar is hidden behind a pastrami sandwich shop on Carrer de Rera Palau in El Born. You order a sandwich at the front, walk through the kitchen, push the unmarked refrigerator door, and enter a 60-seat cocktail bar with elaborate Art Nouveau decor.

Giacomo Giannotti runs the cocktail programme. The menus are theatrical and conceptually ambitious — past menus have included a forest theme with cocktails referencing tree species, and a science-fiction theme with cocktails referencing space exploration. The drinks are technically precise.

The crowd is mid-thirties Barcelona cocktail enthusiasts and visiting cocktail tourists. Pair with Two Schmucks for a complete Barcelona world-ranked cocktail evening.
