Five working editors. Five cities they call home. Every bar review on barsforKings is signed by one of them — and every signature comes with the work to back it up.

barsforKings does not publish anonymous reviews. The bartenders we recommend, we have met. The bars we rank, we have been to. Each editor below covers a specific region and is personally accountable for the rankings under their byline.

Meet the desk

How we review

Every bar in our database is visited at least twice by the regional editor before it can earn a top-tier rating. Our annual rankings draw on more than 12,000 venue visits per year across the 72 cities we cover.

We do not accept paid placements in our editorial. Bars cannot pay to appear in a city ranking, an occasion guide, a top-50 list or any award shortlist. Where a sponsorship slot exists on a given page, it is clearly labelled as advertising and lives in the dedicated band above the footer.
