Logan Square's Most Reliable Cocktail Bar
Sportsman's Club has been on California Avenue in Logan Square since 2011 and is the neighbourhood's most reliable cocktail destination. The room is unfussy: a working class Chicago bar with good cocktails, generous bar food, and no pretension. The kitchen runs late.
The cocktails are technically precise without being theatrical. The Old Fashioned is benchmark. The seasonal menu rotates four times yearly. The bar food — burgers, fried chicken sandwich, hand-cut fries — is excellent.
The crowd is Logan Square locals, mid-thirties Chicago creatives, and the occasional cocktail tourist. Pair with Billy Sunday down the street for a complete Logan Square evening.
