T-Anker

Rooftop Bars Namesti Republiky $$ Rooftop beer bar

T-Anker is Prague's beer answer to the cocktail rooftop: a 650 square metre terrace on top of the Kotva department store, pouring rotating Czech microbrewery taps over a view that takes in the Old Town and Prague Castle.

T-Anker sits on top of the Kotva department store at Namesti Republiky in Prague 1, reached by a dedicated lift to the left of the main entrance rather than through the shop floor, as In Your Pocket explains. The terrace runs to about 650 square metres of wooden decking with seating that reviewers put at 400-plus, looking out over the Old Town rooftops, the Astronomical Clock and Prague Castle on the horizon.

The room

This is a terrace first, an indoor bar second. The draw is the open deck and the sightlines, which Prague Morning notes earned the venue a place on a European best-rooftop list. The setup is casual and self-seating, closer to a beer garden in the sky than a velvet-rope rooftop.

What to order

Order the beer. The taps rotate Czech microbrewery names such as Permon, Uneticky, Purkmistr and Albrecht, plus the occasional Belgian or German guest, and the kitchen runs burgers, steaks and beer snacks alongside. Pricing is the headline: Prague Beer Garden lists pours from 39 Kc for 0.3 litres and 65 Kc for half a litre, which undercuts almost every other rooftop in the centre. Cocktails exist but the beer is the reason to climb up.

The crowd and best time to go

The crowd mixes locals who come for the cheap, well-kept beer with visitors who climbed up for the view. Hours run daily from 11am to 10pm, so late afternoon into sunset is the window, and the open deck means weather matters more than the reservation book. T-Anker is one of the few central rooftops where you can usually walk on without booking on a weeknight.

What regulars say

Across Yelp (n=42, updated February 2026) and Tripadvisor, the praise is consistent: a genuine view at a fair price and beer served in the correct glassware. The recurring caution is that it is weather-dependent and the kitchen is casual rather than a destination, so set expectations on the food.

Who it is for

This is for the beer drinker who wants a Prague panorama without a cocktail-rooftop bill, and for groups who would rather stand a round than queue a door. Skip it on a cold or wet day, when the terrace loses its point. For more of the city, see our Prague rooftop bars guide and the full Prague bar guide.

The scale is the difference. Where most central rooftops cap covers and run a door, T-Anker spreads across a single open level with room to move, and the Kotva building puts you directly above Namesti Republiky rather than set back from the river. In Your Pocket flags the dedicated outdoor lift as the catch for first-timers, since the entrance is kept separate from the department store below. The trade-off is exposure: there is limited cover, so a sudden Prague shower sends the deck indoors fast and the terrace is the whole reason to come.

The verdict

T-Anker wins on value and view: an enormous terrace, well-kept Czech taps from 39 Kc, and one of the best sightlines in the centre. Take the marked lift, grab the deck, and time it for sunset.
