The Best Airport Bars in Atlanta

Pre-flight drinks at Atlanta Airport, made smarter.

Hartsfield-Jackson (ATL) is the world's busiest airport by passenger volume — Delta's super-hub and the source of the Atlanta-via-everywhere joke. The drinking programme is unusually serious for the volume the terminal handles. One Flew South, an actual restaurant-bar in Concourse E, runs a proper Southern-cocktail programme (mint juleps with Old Fitzgerald, peach Whiskey Smashes, the Atlanta-spec Old Fashioned) and a small but credible Tennessee/Kentucky whiskey list. The Delta Sky Club Concourse F flagship is the airline's largest lounge in the world.

The Centurion Lounge ATL is in Concourse T and runs the Amex Platinum play. Public-side, the SweetWater Brewing Co. outposts pour proper Atlanta-craft beer (420 Extra Pale Ale, Take Two Pils) at non-airport prices. The cheat code at ATL is the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta — connected to the airport by walkway and overlooking the runway, with a serious Southern-bourbon programme that includes Buffalo Trace's full range and Heaven Hill's premium pours. If you've got 90 minutes pre-airport, MARTA to North Avenue takes 18 minutes; Kimball House in Decatur is the cocktail destination from there.
