Athens' Best Wine-and-Cocktail Hybrid
Materia Prima is the rare Athens bar that takes both wine and cocktails seriously. The natural wine list runs to 80 European bottles, with a strong Greek and Italian focus. The cocktail menu is short, with eight or ten well-built drinks alongside the wine.
The food is small Mediterranean plates done well — better than at most cocktail bars. The crowd is mid-thirties Athens locals who care about both glass formats.
Best for an early-evening drink before dinner, or as a single-stop evening when you want to combine wine, cocktails, and food. Pair with the wider Athens wine bar scene for a longer wine-led Koukaki evening.
