Our Take

Ixelles' Heritage Place Flagey Café-Bar

Café Belga is the heritage Art Deco café-bar on Place Eugène Flagey — the social square of Ixelles. The 1939 building was originally a radio station and the café-bar has been operating since 1995. Big terrace facing the square, all-day food, and the most reliably packed Brussels neighborhood institution.

The cocktail program is broad and well-built. The kitchen serves all-day food (Belgian classics, croque monsieurs, mussels in summer). The crowd is Ixelles 25-50 from morning coffee through late-night drinks.

Pair with Moeder Lambic after for serious Belgian beer.

What to Order
Belgian Beer Selection
Rotating Trappist and lambic beers. The Belga staple.
Mussels & Frites
Brussels classic, served in summer. The Place Flagey ritual.
Aperol Spritz
Aperol, prosecco, soda. The Belga summer-evening default.
Espresso Martini
Vodka, espresso, kahlua. The late-night staple.
