O'Donoghue's has been pouring on Merrion Row since 1934 and is the trad music pub where The Dubliners formed in the 1960s. The bar runs live trad music nightly — typically four or five players in the front room with the audience close enough to touch the instruments.
The Guinness is correctly poured. The room is preserved old pub — wooden floors, dim warm lighting, framed Dubliners memorabilia. Tourist-popular but genuinely Irish. The atmosphere is committed.
The crowd is mixed Dublin regulars and visiting trad music enthusiasts. Pair with The Cobblestone for a complete Dublin trad music evening.
