Our Take

Edinburgh's Most Photographed Hidden Door

Panda and Sons is hidden behind a working barbershop on Queen Street. You walk past the front, find the small door, push the bookshelf, and descend into a 50-seat basement with theatrical seasonal cocktail menus. The room is committed to its concept.

The cocktails are theatrical and ingredient-led. The seasonal menus follow narratives — past menus have included 'Voyage to the Moon' and 'Through the Looking Glass'. The drinks come in custom glassware with theatrical effects but the technique is precise underneath.

The crowd is mid-thirties Edinburgh professionals and visiting cocktail enthusiasts. Pair with Bramble across the street for a New Town cocktail evening.
