Pjazza

Aperitivo Hidden Gems $$

Pjazza is a small Italian aperitivo bar on Iso Roobertinkatu in Punavuori, opened in 2018 by a small team who had spent enough time in Milan to recognise that Helsinki had no equivalent of the Italian after-work spritz culture. The bar runs the full aperitivo programme — Aperol, Campari, vermouth, prosecco, a small kitchen producing focaccia, salumi and small Italian plates — and treats the 4pm-to-7pm window as the bar's defining hour. The visit, slot by slot.

Pjazza is best on a Tuesday or Wednesday between 5 and 6.30pm. The visit lasts ninety minutes; the bill for two drinks and the aperitivo plates is around €25 per person. Reservations are not taken for the bar at this hour; weekend dinner tables can be booked through the website.
