What Libreria Berisio Is
Libreria Berisio opened in 1956 as a secondhand and antiquarian bookshop on Via Port'Alba, the book street that runs off Piazza Dante. The shelves never left.
After dark the shop pours cocktails between them. In Your Pocket logs DJ evenings and concerts on weekends, and a piano waits in the corner the rest of the week.
Cocktails start around 4.50 euros. The room runs until 1am most nights and 3am on Saturdays.
Reading the Room
Books floor to ceiling, worn armchairs, stools at the bar, and seven decades of shop history in the air.
The Bundle of Books review puts it plainly: a drink in one hand and a 1960s paperback in the other, with alternative music underneath.
The Menu, Edited
Who Shows Up, and When
Conservatory students from around the corner, readers in the early evening, and a dance leaning crowd when the weekend DJ sets start.
The shift happens around 10pm. Pick your hour to pick your room.
What Regulars Say
- Cocktails from about 4.50 euros surprised the Bundle of Books reviewer, who expected tourist pricing on a famous street.
- In Your Pocket logs concerts and DJ evenings at weekends, with a piano ready in the corner.
- The room works as a real bookshop by day; the bar takes over at night.
- Petit Fute files it as a lounge bar, which undersells the shelves.
Who It Is For
- A first drink that doubles as a bookshop visit.
- Solo drinkers with a paperback and no deadline.
- Avoid late Saturday if you came to read. The DJ wins that argument.
