Get Directions Ask Our TeamOur Take on Superfly Soulbar
Superfly Soulbar hides in an arch on Via Cisterna dell'Olio, the little bar street behind the cinema off Piazza Dante, and it has poured cocktails there since 1999. Fodor's includes it in its Centro Storico nightlife shortlist, which is exactly the company it belongs in.
The room barely holds the bar, the records, and the bartender. That is the charm. You order, you step back into the alley, and the night sorts itself out around you.
Reading the Room
Inside you get a counter, shelves of vinyl, and barely enough floor for six people to stand without negotiating. One Tripadvisor reviewer calls it a cool 90s bar, and the description holds: low light, album sleeves, no design consultant in sight.
The real seating plan is the alley outside, where the crowd gathers from about 10pm onward on weekends.
What to Order First
Who Shows Up, and When
Wanderlog's aggregate describes a stylish and interesting crowd, and the reviews keep mentioning people who came for one drink and ended up dancing by close. Locals dominate early; the international crowd finds it later.
Weeknights stay manageable. On Friday and Saturday, come before 10pm or accept the alley, which honestly is not the worse option.
The Pattern in the Reviews
- A positive feel good vibe, sweet soul music and stiff cocktails, runs one much echoed Tripadvisor review.
- Gianni's welcome and bartending get named personally across the review platforms.
- The lack of seating is the one consistent complaint; regulars treat the alley as part of the venue.
Go If, Skip If
- 01Anyone who picks a bar by its record collection first.
- 02A warm up stop before Piazza Bellini or a club night; it sits on the natural route.
- 03Skip it if you need a table and quiet; this room offers neither, on purpose.
