Get Directions Ask Our TeamOur Take on Mirajazz
Mirajazz is the anti rooftop rooftop: no hotel, no dress code, no EUR 16 spritz. It is a small open air terrace at the top of the Escadas do Caminho Novo in Miragaia, run since 2014 as a project of the Grupo Musical de Miragaia, and you earn the Douro view by climbing the stairs. The Rooftop Guide files it in its cheapest price band and calls it the rooftop that mixes incredible views and jazz shows.
Saturdays bring live jazz from around 6pm; the rest of the week the program is Portuguese wine, petisco boards, and the sun going down over Gaia. Where Graham's 1890 Lodge sells the panorama with white tablecloths and tasting flights, Mirajazz sells the same river for the price of a glass of Douro red.
The house review widget runs 4.6 with entries as fresh as this month. It closes at 10pm every night. Sunset is the show, and there is no second act.

Reading the Room
The terrace sits two floors up over the Douro and the Miragaia rooftops, small, casual, and open to the sky. Time Out lists it among the neighborhood's essential stops; the stairs keep the crowds honest.
The crowd is couples and small groups timing the sunset, with a calmer daytime trade reading or working over a glass. One reviewer reported great views even in the rain, which is loyalty.
The operation also runs boat events for up to 350 people under the Mirajazz Fest banner, but the terrace itself stays intimate. If the stairs are a problem, there is no other way up.
