Our Take on Plano B
Rua Cândido dos Reis is the spine of Porto's Galerias nightlife strip, and Plano B has anchored number 30 since 2006 with a format the street still copies: coffee house and gallery by day, concert room and club by night. Spotted by Locals calls it the plan A for most nights out.
Two floors hold three rooms with different tempers. The Cubo Club takes international house and techno bookings, listed on Resident Advisor, while the stage room runs jazz, rock, and experimental sets.
Reading the Room
Velvet, mirrors, and worn grandeur downstairs; exhibitions and workshops upstairs. Local Porto describes it as the groovy bar club of the Baixa, and the crowd flows between rooms all night. The street outside doubles as the smoking terrace, Porto style, until the doormen wave everyone back in.
The Menu, Edited
Who Shows Up, and When
Entry runs free to modest depending on the bill, and drinks hold Baixa standard prices; the cover is the only premium.
Art students, musicians, and the Galerias bar crawl converge after midnight. Thursday is the local night; Saturday peaks at 02:00. Agenda Cultural Porto carries the monthly program.
