Our Take on Wine Quay Bar
The Muro dos Bacalhoeiros is the old codfish traders' wall one level above the Ribeira quay, and Wine Quay Bar occupies two numbers of it with the best positioned wine balcony in Porto. The river traffic and the Dom Luís I bridge sit straight ahead; Visão put it plainly: you watch the river while you drink.
The list runs about 150 references with 60 by the glass, every Portuguese region represented plus a few outsiders. Portoalities ranks it among the city's best wine bars.
Reading the Room
Inside holds barely 16 seats around the bottle racks; the balcony adds a handful more over the promenade. Local Porto calls it the riverside wine bar of the Ribeira, and the small scale is the charm. Couples claim the rail seats an hour before sunset and do not give them back.

Who Shows Up, and When
Glasses run roughly 4 to 8 euros, gentle for a view this photographed, and the boards keep the bill honest.
Couples dominate the rail; small groups take the inside table. Summer hours run 16:00 to 23:00 Monday through Saturday; winter pulls back an hour. Sunday it rests.
