The Best Airport Bars in Beijing

Pre-flight drinks at Beijing Airport, made smarter.

Beijing operates two airports — Capital (PEK), the older hub, and Daxing (PKX), the Zaha Hadid-designed mega-airport opened in 2019. PKX has progressively absorbed PEK's traffic and is now the city's primary international gateway. The drinking at both is concentrated in airline lounges. Air China's First Class Lounge at PKX is the premium-cabin play (Star Alliance Gold or Air China First required) and runs a proper baijiu programme alongside the standard Champagne pours — Moutai by the glass for those who can stomach it.

Public-side options at both Beijing airports are mostly Western chains (Costa Coffee, Burger King, the occasional Pizza Hut) with limited cocktail programmes. The cheat code at PEK is the Hilton Beijing Capital Airport directly attached to T3 — its bar pours proper Chinese baijiu and runs a small Western cocktail programme. At PKX, the equivalent is the Hilton Daxing Airport. The Beijing Subway from PKX to Caoqiao (line 19) takes 19 minutes if you've got 90 minutes pre-airport — Janes + Hooch in Sanlitun is the cocktail destination from there.
