Bogota runs on live music after dark. Chapinero stacks salsa basements and jazz rooms within a few blocks, the north end keeps the big stages, and a band in the corner is the default rather than the exception. We sorted the salsotecas, the jazz clubs and the local guides to land on these eight, where the floor fills and the band carries the night.
Chapinero is the heart of it. Armando Records, La Negra and El Bembe sit within a short walk, each loud and built for the dance floor.

For a loud night of dancing, start at Armando Records or drop into La Negra for the coastal sound. For the salsa played the way the city likes it, take Galeria Cafe Libro or El Bembe and stay for the band. The drink is cheap here, so the music sets the pace.
