Dubai has higher buildings. Bangkok has better chaos. New York has the most famous skyline. But Singapore wins the ranking because it delivers the highest overall standard across the most consistent conditions. You can drink on a rooftop bar here at 9pm on a weeknight in February and get an excellent cocktail with a world-class view, in a climate that is warm but manageable. That consistency is what separates a great rooftop drinking city from a city with a few great rooftop bars.
The diversity of the Singapore rooftop scene also matters. Marina Bay Sands is famous for a reason. But 1-Altitude at One Raffles Place, LeVel33 above the Marina Bay Financial Centre, and the cocktail bar programmes at smaller rooftops across Duxton Hill and Keong Saik Road give Singapore a depth that Dubai's more concentrated, high-end scene cannot fully match.
