The 10 Best Cocktail Bars in Copenhagen 2026

Copenhagen has the most design-led cocktail scene in Europe. Ruby pioneered the Scandinavian cocktail bar format in 2007. Lidkoeb followed with the three-floor cocktail-and-whisky model. The 10 below show how Danish design and Nordic ingredients combine. Most are in Indre By or Vesterbro.

  6. 07 Manfred's on Jaegersborggade is a natural-wine spot first, with about 20 bar seats for walk-ins and a famous beef tartare. The drinks list leans low-intervention wine over cocktails, by the glass and worth trusting. Go for an early seat, the tartare and whatever the staff pours. Tight and busy. More a wine bar than a cocktail room, and honest about it.

  9. 10 The Balcony Bar inside Hotel d'Angleterre is the grand-hotel option on Kongens Nytorv, all marble and gilt. Cocktails are polished and priced to match, well past 150 kroner. Go for an aperitif before dinner or a quiet nightcap, dressed up. The terrace seats are the move in summer. Not a session bar, but the most elegant single drink in town.
  10. 11

    Hooked

Hooked on Nørrebrogade serves seafood without the white tablecloths, alongside organic cocktails and cold beer from local brewery TO ØL. Lobster rolls and fish burgers anchor the menu. Open daily.

    Jagger

Jagger started on Istedgade in Vesterbro and now runs more than 30 counters across Copenhagen, pairing canned beer and frozen cocktails with burgers from former Michelin chef Rasmus Oubaek. Drinks stay cheap and the frozen daiquiri moves fast.

How Copenhagen drinks differently

Copenhagen drinks earlier than Mediterranean cities, and bars peak between 9 and 11 PM. Ruby and Lidkoeb are the technical references and Curfew is the modernist outlier. Barr, in Noma's old harborside building, reopened in June 2026 with a North Sea menu and one of Europe's deepest beer lists.

Morten Andersen writes about beer and the kind of bars that do not ask for attention. He clocks the pour, the crowd and the prices before the decor.
