Casablanca Bar Guide

30+ bars across Casablanca's drinking neighbourhoods, curated by editors who know the city.

Casablanca's bars play with Bogart-era nostalgia. Rick's Café — built in 2004 to recreate the fictional bar from the 1942 film — runs as the city's most famous cocktail room. Around the heritage layer, the Corniche along the Atlantic holds polished oceanfront lounges. The drinks lean mint-tea-spiked martinis, Boukha (Tunisian fig brandy), and French wines.

Five neighbourhoods cluster the action. Maarif is the polished restaurant-bar spine. The Corniche wraps the Atlantic with sunset terraces. Centre Ville holds the heritage Art-Deco cocktail rooms. Anfa is the residential boutique-bar quarter. Bourgogne covers the polished modernist hotel district.

Cocktails run MAD 100 to MAD 180 ($10 to $18). Tipping is 10 percent. Most bars run to 1am, weekend bars to 3am. Friday is quietest; Thursday and Saturday are busiest. Reserve Rick's Café — Bogart-era nostalgia at full theatrical volume.
