Osaka · Bar District

Fukushima — Osaka

Fukushima is the Osaka district that Umeda commuters drink in after work. Five-minute train from the major business hub, two-thousand izakaya across maybe ten blocks, and a post-2015 wave of craft beer and natural wine rooms that have made this the value-tier serious-drinking neighbourhood in the city.

Salaryman after work. Peak hours 6pm–11pm Monday through Thursday; weekends quieter. Stand-bar (tachinomi) format common; expect to drink standing for the first hour of the night.
