Little Trouble occupies a prime corner inside Ponce City Market, the converted 1926 Sears warehouse that has become Atlanta's most interesting food destination. Most bars in multi-tenant food halls survive on location rather than quality. Little Trouble is the exception: it is genuinely one of the best cocktail programmes in Atlanta, full stop.
The concept draws on Asian-American heritage — Sichuan peppercorn shows up in a spiced syrup; sake is used as a base spirit alongside gin; yuzu dots the menu like a recurring motif. The shareable punch bowls, designed for two to four people, are the best reason to visit with a group. At 8 portions per bowl, they represent extraordinary value against the individual cocktail prices and the quality does not drop with scale.
"Most bars in food halls survive on location. Little Trouble is the exception: a genuinely serious cocktail programme that could stand alone anywhere in the city."
The snack menu earns its own attention. Chicken karaage that arrives perfectly crisp, cucumber bao with a sauce that is better than it has any right to be at a cocktail bar, mochi ice cream that works as dessert and palate cleanser simultaneously. Order the karaage with your second round and plan to stay longer than intended.
The room is dim and deliberately moody — warm red light, low ceilings, exposed industrial elements from the building's old bones. It is one of the better-looking bars in a city that has invested heavily in bar design over the last decade. For a date night in Atlanta, Little Trouble competes with anything on the city's date night circuit.
Sunday afternoon is the most underrated time slot. The market is quieter, the bar is relaxed, and Sunday service runs from 2pm. Order a punch bowl, eat the karaage, stay until the evening crowd arrives. For a midweek date night, Tuesday and Wednesday between 6pm and 9pm is ideal — and see our Atlanta guide for nearby dinner options.
