Asia Today opened in 2019 with a clear thesis: Bangkok cocktail bars should champion Asian spirits and ingredients rather than imitate London or New York templates. The result is one of the most distinctive cocktail menus in Asia.
The drinks are built around Thai Mekhong whisky, Japanese shochu, Korean soju, Indonesian arak, and Asian fruits and herbs. The Mekhong Mule pairs Thai whisky with kaffir lime, ginger, and Thai basil. The Holy Basil Smash uses gin infused with horapa basil. The Mango Sticky Rice cocktail is a dessert in glass form.
