A Casual Thonglor Cocktail Standby
Bad Motel is the casual cocktail bar Thonglor needed when the more polished rooms started becoming reservation-only. Neon lights, mismatched furniture, no dress code, and a rotating seasonal menu that takes itself seriously without trying to compete with Vesper or Q and A.
The drinks are reliable and well-made. The Thonglor Sour uses local Thai citrus and Mekhong whisky. The Highball menu rotates weekly and is built around interesting Asian spirits.
The crowd is mid-twenties Bangkok creatives and visiting hospitality industry. The bartenders are friendly and the music is loud enough to talk over. Pair with Rabbit Hole for a Thonglor cocktail crawl.
