Mahanakhon Bar is the ground-floor taproom of the Mahanakhon Brewing Company, one of the larger Thai craft producers. It sits at the base of the King Power Mahanakhon tower in Silom — Bangkok's tallest building, recognisable by its pixelated facade.

Our Take on Mahanakhon Bar
The taproom serves all of the brewery's core beers and most of the seasonal releases on tap. Twelve taps total, with the lineup updated on the brewery's Instagram. The Mahanakhon IPA — a 6.5% west-coast style — is the bar's house signature and a beer that has won the Thailand Craft Beer Association awards three years running.
The room is a long bar facing the brewery's tank window (visible from the street as well) with bar seating and a small terrace. The kitchen does Thai-Western pub food at competitive prices; the chicken-and-IPA pairing is the menu's strongest call. Happy hour from 4pm to 7pm puts pints at THB 220.
Mahanakhon Bar is the right destination when you want a serious local-craft education in a single sitting. Take the tower's elevator to the SkyWalk observation deck first (THB 1000), come back down for two flights at the bar, eat dinner, leave by 9pm before the crowd thickens. The brewery itself runs Saturday tours for THB 500 including a four-beer flight.
Best time to visit: Weekday evenings before 9pm for a quieter version of the room; weekends after 9pm for the busier one. Reservations recommended where the bar accepts them.
