Our Take on The Drunken Leprechaun
The Drunken Leprechaun opened in 2015 on the ground floor of the Four Points by Sheraton on Sukhumvit Soi 15, and Asia Bars covered it then as the district's new Irish room. It splits into three spaces: the air conditioned main bar, a rear garden courtyard, and an open air terrace across the frontage.
Sport is central to the identity. Siam2nite notes the gigantic screen that carries live matches, and Thailand GAA's own Facebook page names the pub as a sponsor and gathering home for Gaelic football in Bangkok, so GAA weekends bring the most partisan crowd in the soi.
The kitchen stays in lane with fish and chips, beef and Guinness pie, and bangers and mash. A weekly quiz night fills the room between fixtures, and the 10am open means the pub catches the early windows that most Sukhumvit bars sleep through.
Among Bangkok's Irish rooms it is the one to pick when you want the crowd to care about the result. It also anchors the Irish end of our Bangkok sports bar coverage for hotel guests along lower Sukhumvit.
