BrewDog Berlin Mitte

Craft Beer $$

A long tap wall of BrewDog beers on Ackerstrasse, a short walk from Rosenthaler Platz.

BrewDog Berlin Mitte sits at Ackerstrasse 29, in the stretch of Mitte between Rosenthaler Platz and Bernauer Strasse. It is the German capital outpost of the Scottish brewer, built around a long bar of taps and a plain industrial room. The format is the same one BrewDog runs across its bar network.

The bar passed through a scare in early 2026. BrewDog filed for insolvency on its German operation in March, putting every German site at risk of closure. The Mitte bar then reopened after management reached terms with the provisional administrator, per about-drinks.

The room

The space is functional rather than designed: bare surfaces, high tables, and a tap wall that anchors the room. The draw is the beer list and the screens, not the decor. It works as a stop for a few rounds rather than a long evening.

Ackerstrasse keeps it central but off the busiest tourist lines, so weeknights stay manageable. The location suits a planned beer stop more than a passing walk-in. The nearest U-Bahn is Rosenthaler Platz on the U8, a five minute walk south, which makes it an easy first stop before a longer Mitte crawl.

The drinks

The list leads with BrewDog core beers. Punk IPA is the house pour, joined by Dead Pony Club and a rotating set of seasonal and guest taps that the bar tracks on Untappd. Pints land around 5 to 7 euros depending on strength, which is fair for Mitte. Order a third or half-pint flight if you want to cover more of the wall in one sitting. The non-alcoholic range is unusually deep for a beer bar, with several BrewDog AF options on tap. The board rotates often, so the guest taps rarely look the same two weeks apart. Staff will pour a small taster before you commit to a full pour, which helps with the stronger imperial styles. A short food menu of burgers and wings backs the beer for anyone settling in for the evening.

The crowd

The crowd mixes craft beer regulars, after-work groups, and visitors who know the brand from home. It leans casual and conversational, with screens on for major matches rather than a full sports-bar setup. Evenings build steadily and stay busiest on Friday and Saturday, when the bar runs to 2am. The room rewards drinkers who came for the taps, not those after cocktails or a quiet corner.

What regulars say

Reviewers across Yelp and Untappd settle on a steady read. The tap selection and the AF range earn the most praise, and the central location helps. The common complaint is that the room can feel plain, and prices sit at the higher end for a pint in Berlin. Service draws mixed notes, faster on quiet nights than at weekend peak. Most agree it delivers exactly what the brand promises, with little surprise either way.

Who it is for

It is for craft beer drinkers, an after-work group, or anyone who already follows the BrewDog range. Skip it if you want cocktails, table service, or a designed room. For local brewers see Berlin's craft beer scene and the global craft beer guide.

Best time to go

Go on a weeknight for an easy seat at the tap wall, or Friday and Saturday for the later 2am close. Check the guest taps before you settle on a round. Pair it with a wider plan from our Berlin bar guide and the city's best craft beer list.
