Mitte's Modern Cocktail Specialist
Velvet Bar opened in Mitte in 2017 and built a reputation for thoughtful seasonal cocktail programmes. The room is small and modern — pale wood, soft lighting, around 30 seats — and the back bar runs deep into unusual European spirits.
The seasonal menu rotates four times yearly with thoughtful originals using lesser-known European spirits. The bartenders explain each ingredient's provenance. The classical cocktails are also precise.
The crowd is mid-thirties Mitte professionals and visiting cocktail enthusiasts. Pair with Buck and Breck for a complete Mitte cocktail evening.
