Our Take

Kreuzberg's Heritage Cocktail Bar

Würgeengel — meaning 'Exterminating Angel' after the Buñuel film — is a heritage Kreuzberg cocktail bar that has been pouring on Dresdener Strasse since the 1990s. The room is wood-panelled, dim, and intentional — and the cocktail programme has been consistent for decades.

The drinks are classical and precise. The bartenders are formally trained and work without theatre. The Negroni, Manhattan, and Old Fashioned are all benchmark. The bar runs late — until 4am most nights.

The crowd is older Kreuzberg professionals and visiting cocktail enthusiasts who want something other than the modern Berlin scene. Pair with the wider Berlin cocktail scene for a complete evening.
