Trina's does not take reservations — and that is part of the point. Show up, find a seat at the bar, and let the evening happen. Weekend brunch fills by noon, so arrive earlier than you think you need to.
Trina's Starlite Lounge is the bar that Boston cocktail regulars keep to themselves and then mention as an afterthought when guests ask for recommendations. Set in Inman Square on the Cambridge-Somerville border, it is technically not in Boston proper — which might be why it has stayed so genuinely local for so long.
The room is small, warm, and decked out in retro neon and mismatched furniture in a way that feels intentional rather than ironic. The cocktail menu is far better than the room's casual demeanor would suggest. Trina's was doing house-made syrups, seasonal ingredients, and thoughtful spirit selection well before it was standard practice in the neighbourhood, and the drinks still arrive with a clarity and balance that surprises first-time visitors.
Weekend brunch is legitimately one of the best in the area — boozy, unhurried, and excellent value. The cocktail-as-brunch-drink approach here is more coherent than most dedicated brunch spots manage. If you are building an Inman Square crawl, this is where you start the evening; Deep Ellum in Allston is the natural continuation if you want to shift to craft beer later. Trina's belongs in any serious survey of the best hidden gem bars in Boston and earns its place in the broader Boston cocktail bar guide as proof that the best drinks in the city are not always in the most obvious rooms.

Trina's consistently does interesting things with the Negroni template. The current house version is usually a highlight.
