Our Take

Saint-Gilles' Most Precise Natural Wine Bar

Le Typographe is Saint-Gilles' most precise natural wine bar — 200+ rotating producers from small French, Italian, and Belgian estates. The 32-seat room is candlelit with leather banquettes, an antique wooden cellar, and reclaimed printing-press shelving (the building was once a typography shop).

The wine list runs 200+ bottles. Bartenders are sommeliers and pour two or three tastings before you commit to a glass. Simple plates: charcuterie, sourdough, fish from the Brussels market.

Pair with Hortense after for a cocktail wind-down to the wine evening.

What to Order
French Natural Red
Three rotating Loire and Beaujolais producers. The Typographe standard.
Belgian Wine
Two rotating Belgian winery producers (yes, Belgium makes wine). Curiosity factor high.
Charcuterie Plate
Belgian and French small-producer cured meats.
Sommelier Flight
Three tastings chosen by the bartender.
