Chez Richard is a heritage Brussels wine bar with a deep French focus. The room is small and unfussy, bare wood, exposed brick, around 30 seats, and the wine list runs to around 150 bottles, mostly French with a small Belgian and German layer.
The drinks are simple. The bartender-sommelier will recommend by style. The food menu is small French plates done well, pâté, terrine, cheese, charcuterie. The bar has been operating since the 1990s and the regulars defend it.
The crowd is older Brussels professionals and wine enthusiasts. Pair with Le Coq for a Brussels wine-then-cocktails evening.
