Cape Town's Olive Tree Jazz Lounge

Asoka is a Cape Dutch house turned cocktail lounge with a 200-year-old olive tree growing through the centre of the room. Live jazz Tuesdays. Tapas and sushi menu. One of the most atmospheric rooms in Cape Town.

The cocktail list is broad rather than deep but well-executed. The Tuesday jazz nights are a Cape Town institution - book ten days ahead. The crowd is 30s-40s creative class.
