Thompson's Bookstore — Downtown
Thompson's is a downtown Dallas speakeasy modelled on a 1920s bookstore — push the unmarked door, past shelves of leather-bound books, into a dim 60-seat room with chesterfield sofas and a long bar.
The cocktail menu rotates seasonally with chapters built around literature themes (the recent run was Hemingway). Cocktails are classics-with-twist and the bar uses a lot of fat-washes and infusions made in-house.
