Our Take
RiNo's Farm-to-Glass Flagship
Acreage sits in the heart of RiNo, Denver's most creatively charged neighbourhood, and it matches its surroundings exactly: industrial bones, raw concrete, reclaimed timber, and a bar programme that takes Colorado agriculture seriously. The cocktail list reads like a procurement order from a dozen Colorado farms and distilleries, translated into drinks that are genuinely exciting to work through.
The spirits selection leans hard on the state's rapidly maturing craft distillery scene. Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey, Breckenridge Bourbon, and Laws Whiskey House all appear, alongside smaller producers most bars outside Denver have never heard of. The bartenders know every bottle personally and will steer you well. The rooftop terrace, open from late spring through early autumn, is one of the finest outdoor drinking perches in the city.
Acreage appeals to drinkers who want to understand where their spirits come from. It sits a short walk from Death and Co Denver and makes a natural pairing for an evening in RiNo. The full Denver craft beer scene is equally well represented in the neighbourhood if spirits are not the only thing on your agenda.
What to Order
Colorado Sour Mash
Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey, house fermented cherry shrub, lemon, and smoked honey. The signature. Order it on arrival.
Palisade Mule
Breckenridge Bourbon, Palisade peach puree, ginger beer, and lime. Colorado's answer to the Moscow Mule, and better than the original.
Mountain Old Fashioned
Laws Four Grain Bourbon, pine sap bitters, Colorado honey, and a single large ice cube. The mountains in a glass.
The Harvest
Seasonal rotating cocktail built around whatever is coming off Colorado farms that week. Ask the bar team what it is tonight.
Best Time to Visit
The rooftop is Acreage's best seat and it fills by 6pm on summer evenings. Arrive early if you want the terrace. Inside is excellent year-round, with the bar at its most animated on Thursday and Friday evenings when the RiNo gallery crowd filters in after openings. Monday and Tuesday are quieter and ideal for longer conversations at the bar.
Who It's For
Colorado spirits enthusiasts, after-work groups who want something more considered than a chain bar, and anyone visiting RiNo who wants a drink that actually reflects where they are. Acreage is consistently recommended in our guide to after-work bars in Denver.
