Our Take
40 Kong — Downtown Dubai
40 Kong sits on the 40th floor of the H Hotel with one of Downtown Dubai's most direct views of the Burj Khalifa fountain show. The horseshoe terrace wraps the building and lets you stand directly under the fountain timing — the music piped onto the deck is synced to the show.
Inside, the lounge is mid-century modern with deep banquettes and a long marble bar pouring proper martinis and a strong negroni list. The crowd is mid-thirties expat with a healthy Downtown-tourist mix on weekends.
Smart casual is enforced after 8pm. Reserve a terrace table at least a week ahead Thursday-Saturday for the fountain show timing.
