Our Take on Soho Garden

Soho Garden is Dubai at its most unabashedly fun. Positioned on a 15,000 square foot rooftop terrace at Meydan Racecourse, it operates on a scale that makes most rooftop venues look like afterthoughts. On a Friday night in peak season, the crowd runs to 2,000 people across four distinct zones. This is not a quiet cocktail bar. It is the city's most committed outdoor party venue, and it does what it does with genuine conviction.

The entertainment programme is serious. Soho Garden has brought international DJs including names from Ibiza's regular circuit, and the production values match: sound system, lighting rigs, and stage design that would not be out of place at a major European festival. The booking team focuses the calendar heavily on Thursday through Saturday nights from October through April, when Dubai's outdoor temperatures cooperate. Summer programming is reduced and primarily indoor.

The drinks programme runs 4 dedicated bars across the terrace, which keeps wait times manageable even at capacity. The cocktails are crowd-pleasers rather than craft exercises, and the spritz selection is where the bar does its best work. Beer towers work well for larger groups. The pool area, operational on weekend afternoons during cooler months, offers a genuinely different atmosphere from the evening events.

Soho Garden occupies a different register than other Dubai nightlife. If you want to understand why Dubai attracts the international party crowd it does, a Friday night here explains it immediately. For the full picture of Dubai's nightlife spread, compare with the more intimate energy of Cin Cin or the pure view experience of NEOS at Address Downtown. Our editors' overview covers both ends of the spectrum in the complete Dubai bar guide.

Best time to visit: Friday nights October through March, when the weather and DJ programme align. Book a table minimum of 5 days in advance for peak weeks. Expect to spend AED 200–350 per person comfortably.

What to Order at Soho Garden

01
Aperol Spritz Tower
Soho Garden operates a dedicated spritz station. The Aperol Spritz, made properly with correct ratios, served in a 3-litre tower for groups of 4 to 6, is the most sensible purchase on any Friday night here.
02
Garden Punch Bowl
Vodka, tropical fruit, coconut water, and a rum float, served in a sharing bowl with long straws for groups. High-volume, crowd-friendly, and appropriately tropical for the setting.
03
Draft Beer Selection
Soho Garden runs a solid draft programme with Heineken, Peroni, and rotating craft options. At peak volume the cocktail programme slows; beer stays fast and consistent throughout.
04
Espresso Martini (Late Night)
If the evening is running long and you need the second wind, the espresso martini from the main bar delivers. Stronger than most versions and better balanced than the setting might suggest.
