Our Take
Edinburgh's Original Modern Cocktail Bar
Dragonfly opened on West Port in 2003 and was the first serious modern cocktail bar in Edinburgh. The two-floor space — bar downstairs, lounge upstairs — set the template for the city's cocktail scene before Bramble arrived three years later.
The cocktails are classical with seasonal twists. The seasonal menu rotates four times yearly. The whisky list is respectable and the back bar holds around 200 spirits.
The crowd is mid-thirties Edinburgh locals and Festival visitors during August. The location near the Royal Mile makes it an easy festival stop. Pair with Bramble for a complete Edinburgh cocktail evening.
