Trillby & Chadwick opened on Yliopistonkatu in 2014 as Helsinki's most committed speakeasy. The bar is named after two fictional 19th-century detectives. Entry is by reservation only, the reservation requires a password sent in advance, and the password rotates weekly. The bar takes the speakeasy frame more seriously than any other room in the city. The bar takes two seatings per evening (7pm-9.30pm, 10pm-12.30am) and runs them strictly. The visit is two-and-a-half hours; budget accordingly. The bill is cash or card; tip is included; the host walks you back through the door at the end of the slot.
