Our Take on Honky Tonks Tavern
Honky Tonks Tavern hides on Man Ling Lane just off Hollywood Road, its tables spilling toward the small courtyard of Pak Tsz Lane Park. The premise borrows from Nashville, hot chicken, loud tunes and zero pretension, run through a Hong Kong gastropub filter.
Time Out Hong Kong flags the thin pizzas with out there toppings, Dorito dust, barbecued chicken and ranch included, alongside playful cocktails and a decent natural wine list. The daily changing slushie cocktail is the house signature.
The World's 50 Best Discovery list carries Honky Tonks among Hong Kong's bars worth crossing town for, an authority nod for a room this casual. Tripadvisor holds it at 4.3, with the tater tots and buffalo wings drawing repeat praise.
The slushies run more consistent than the stirred cocktails, so order with the room's grain. Hours run 5pm until late Monday to Thursday and open at 2pm Friday through Sunday for the weekend park crowd.
