East London's Best Hidden Cocktail Bar

Discount Suit Company is hidden behind a working-but-empty clothing shop on Wentworth Street. You walk past the front, look for the small door at the back, descend a narrow staircase, and enter a 30-seat basement bar with brick walls and a serious cocktail programme.

The cocktail menu is short — usually 10 to 12 seasonal drinks plus the classics on request. The bartenders are bartender-tourists' bartenders: knowledgeable, unhurried, and willing to discuss technique.

The crowd is mid-thirties East London cocktail nerds. Best Tuesday to Thursday for the conversation. Friday and Saturday it gets crowded. Pair with Nightjar for an East London speakeasy crawl.
