Where the Palmeraie Meets the Sky

Perched atop the Es Saadi Palace & Resort — one of Marrakech's most storied five-star properties — Sky Bar occupies a privileged position above the Hivernage garden district. The rooftop terrace wraps around a luminescent pool, offering unobstructed sightlines across a sea of palms to the snow-capped Atlas Mountains in winter and beyond.

The bar has been a discreet institution since Es Saadi's landmark renovation in 2015, when the group also opened its acclaimed Casino. The crowd is intentionally cosmopolitan: Marrakech regulars who know to arrive before 8pm for the long golden hour, visiting guests of the resort, and a rotating cast of architects, gallery owners, and creatives drawn to the city's growing arts scene in the Hivernage corridor along Avenue Quadissa.

Weekends bring resident DJs who pitch the mood somewhere between deep house and North African ambient — never so loud that conversation breaks down, always present enough to make the evening feel like an event. On weeknights the pace is slower and the bar draws couples and small groups seeking the city's best sunset view without the medina's sensory overload. For those discovering Marrakech's rooftop bar scene for the first time, Sky Bar sets the benchmark.

Visit Information

Getting there: Sky Bar is on the top floor of Es Saadi Palace, Avenue Quadissa, Hivernage — a five-minute taxi ride from Djemaa el-Fna and roughly twelve minutes on foot from the southern medina gate. Ride-hailing apps work reliably in Hivernage.

Access: The bar is open to hotel residents and non-resident visitors. Arrive smart casual — the dress code is enforced, particularly on weekends. Groups of six or more are encouraged to reserve in advance via the resort's concierge.

Best timing: Arrive by 7pm any evening to secure pool-edge seating for the Atlas sunset. On clear winter days (November–March) the snow-capped peaks are visible from late afternoon. Saturday nights feature the most ambitious DJ programming; Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are reliably quieter and excellent for Marrakech date night options. The combination of Sky Bar followed by dinner at Terrasse des Épices in the medina makes for a near-perfect Marrakech evening.

Parking: Valet service available at the hotel entrance. Self-parking on Avenue Quadissa is possible but limited on weekends.
