New Orleans Comes to Williamsburg
Maison Premiere opened on Bedford Avenue in 2011 and has been routinely placed in the World's 50 Best Bars ever since. The room is a New Orleans absinthe house transposed to Williamsburg: a horseshoe marble bar, brass fittings, an outdoor garden, and a serious absinthe fountain.
The cocktail programme is rooted in 19th century New Orleans tradition. The Sazerac is benchmark. The Absinthe Frappé is the signature: absinthe, mint, sugar, served frozen. The oyster programme is the deepest in Brooklyn.
The crowd is mid-thirties Williamsburg locals and pilgrim cocktail tourists. The garden in summer is one of the best urban drinking spaces in NYC. Pair with Clover Club in Carroll Gardens for a complete Brooklyn cocktail evening.
