A Pub That Takes Cocktails Seriously
Suffolk Arms opened in 2016 from Giuseppe Gonzalez, the bartender who designed the cocktail programme at PKNY. The concept is unusual: a working New York pub with real ales on tap, plus a serious cocktail programme that runs to 30 drinks. The room is split between a pub-style front bar and a more intimate back room.
The cocktails lean classical with a Caribbean rum focus. Gonzalez is a Trinidad-born bartender and the rum programme reflects that. The pub side runs eight cask and craft ales rotating weekly.
The crowd is LES locals, cocktail tourists, and a Sunday brunch crowd. The bar runs late — until 4am Thursday to Sunday — which makes it one of the better LES late-night options. Pair with Attaboy a few blocks west for an LES cocktail crawl.
