Our Take on King's Pub
A carved king's head guards the door at 15 Rue de la Préfecture, a few steps from the Palais de Justice on one of the old town's loudest streets. Inside, rock legends stare down from the walls of a room dressed like a medieval hall, and RdvROCK calls it the best rock venue in Nice without much local argument.
Bands play every night from 10:30pm until 2am, with an open mic taking Tuesdays. By the second set on a Saturday the tables double as dance floors, a habit Party Earth documents approvingly.
It is the only bar in Vieux Nice where live rock is the schedule rather than the exception, and the terrace works year round for those who want the street more than the stage.
Reading the Room
Dark wood, shields and stone effect walls set the medieval staging, with the stage crammed into a corner that keeps every seat close. The sound runs hot; conversation happens on the terrace.
That terrace faces the rue de la Préfecture parade, the old town's best free theater between sets.

Who Shows Up, and When
Early evening pulls an after work and tourist mix off the street, and the band hour replaces it with the rock faithful. Weekends finish with the whole room singing over the encore.
Tripadvisor reviewers call out the French bands covering American hits as the house specialty.
