Our Take

A 1931 Cocktail Bar Near Madeleine

Le Forum opened in 1931 and the bar has been continuously operating since. The room is preserved art deco — leather banquettes, etched mirrors, brass fittings — and the cocktail programme is rooted in the 1930s American classics with French execution.

The drinks are precise and unfussy. The bartenders are formally trained and the build follows pre-prohibition classical specifications. The Old Fashioned, the Manhattan, the Sidecar are all benchmark.

The crowd is older Paris professionals and visiting cocktail enthusiasts. Pair with Harry's New York Bar for a complete heritage Paris cocktail evening.
