Boteco Belmonte is the Flamengo bodegão institution, a corner-pub that's been pulling Cariocas since the 1950s with a tight format of ice-cold chopp, salt-cod fritters and white-jacketed waiter service.
The format is true botequim, chopp Brahma in tulip glasses, simple bar food (bolinho de bacalhau, pastel, croquettes), the celebrated bolinho-de-bacalhau as the city benchmark. Crowd is mixed neighbourhood and pilgrim.
